uppitychinaman Pffffttttt...blizzard. WHATEVER. I guess I'll just have to wear a shirt when I go running. (Photo from this past Sunday's Fred Lebow Manhattan Half. 36 degrees in Central Park.) #Don'tNeedNoStinkinShirt #TeamBadDecisions #NYRR #FredLebow #FredLebowHalf 4d

uppitychinaman Tonight's trophy- my sweat soaked running vest. (Yes, I sweat even when it's 24 degrees with a real feel of 17 degrees.) I set out to do 10-13 miles, but started to fast, so after getting over Harlem Hill at 3.5 miles, my knee threatened to give out. I walked/ran 2.5 more miles and had exited the Park intending to call it a night, when I stopped. "You have to finish," the voice in my heart told me.
I turned around and started running again, this time slowing down to focus on form. By mile 7.5 my knee wasn't hurting anymore. The last 2.5 miles felt great.
Tonight I won, not because I hit my time goal, but because for the first time since injuring myself, I finished 10 miles, and along the way I found my form and confidence.
